NTI NOV 19 -1

For the team at NTI there is nothing bigger on the event calendar than the annual NonStop Technical Boot Camp (TBC) event. This year this event was held once again at the Hyatt Regency Burlingame, California. Having spent the year at events worldwide from Australia to Scotland and all points in between, including many local Regional User Group (RUG) meetings, it was still highly encouraging to see this year’s turn out by the NonStop community. Any signs that interest in NonStop may have been waning was quickly put to rest as more than 400 attendees walked through the doors – including more than 100 first time participants.

It is always interesting to see what is gaining traction with the community as over the past couple years HPE has made huge investments in the NonStop platform, whereby today enterprises have a choice between running NonStop on traditional NonStop i systems and NonStop X systems or as fully virtualized NonStop systems, (vNS), on any number of vendors x86 servers. Obviously, HPE is pulling out all the plugs to ensure potential users of virtualized NonStop (vNS) can select from a range of ProLiant x86 servers, but already the news making the rounds of the event suggest other x86 servers have successfully been tested and in some cases customers have begun deploying vNS on servers of their own choosing. For enterprises already invested in building out private cloud infrastructure the option to run vNS is becoming highly attractive.

Central to the NTI promotion at TBC 2019 was the post launch updates on PROVisioning: Excellence in Data. The subject of numerous presentations over the past six months, the NonStop community has begun fully comprehending where NTI is headed as a provider of solutions for replicating in support of Business Continuity as well as distributing for Business Cooperation, integrating for Business Insight and transforming for even greater Business Opportunities. It has become more than obvious to NTI customers and prospects that it is a reality that their NonStop applications do exactly as HPE executives promote – we, at NonStop create the data!

In today’s data-driven world, where NonStop provides support of mission critical applications, it’s increasingly important for NonStop customers and prospects to have access to as many options as there are in the marketplace today whenever data has to be moved off NonStop. NTI is providing leadership in this marketplace and electing to coexist with other solutions is only further enhancing NTI’s reputation as a premier product provider for all things data related! To have a vision and a strategy is just a starting point, but what became very clear at TBC 2019 is that the DRNet® extended product family is finding its place in the real world where today, there are many NonStop users already deploying DRNet® to meet the demands of data movement!

NTI NOV 19 -2

It has been common knowledge among the NonStop community that in order to be successful in today’s marketplace partnerships are an all-important business necessity. Developing a thriving ecosystem has become a priority for many NonStop vendors and NTI isn’t missing any opportunities to enhance its own ecosystem of partners. For 2020 our business plan calls for growing our partnership program so look for further updates from NTI in the near future. Our programs for NonStop users continue to thrive globally and you will see even more presence of the NTI team at upcoming events as we take our message of data to audiences wherever the community gathers. For this year’s TBC 2019 it would be remiss of us if we failed to congratulate our winner of the Apple iPad we provided – yes, congratulations to J.P. Morgan Vice President – Infrastructure Engineering, Jason Bossmin.

TBC 2019 proved to be very successful for NTI both in terms of being able to promote our products and this is just the beginning. According to Tim Dunne, NTI Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales, “As with almost every other NonStop vendor we talk to of late it’s clear that HPE is doing extremely well selling the new NonStop X systems and it’s not all replacement business – there are new applications for NonStop being actively discussed by some of our NonStop customers and the more applications we see deployed on NonStop, whether on traditional NonStop X or on vNS in private clouds, the more we know even more data will be on the move!”

Before the year runs out there are still opportunities to meet the NTI team with BITUG Little SIG (London) December 3, 2019, almost here – https://www.bitug.com/little-sig-2019

And if you have as yet not considered attending the next major NonStop event which in 2020 will be held in Berlin, Germany, – the HPE NonStop HotSpot / IT-Symposium (Berlin) May, 4 – 6, 2020, then perhaps it’s time to start putting plans together. We will be there and we hope to see you all – data is on the move; are you ready to move with NTI?
