Celebrate with OmniPayments

It’s that time of the year again when we in the NonStop Community look forward to the iconic event of the year in California, the NonStop TBC 2024 community, organized by the good folk at Connect will gather at the Hyatt Regency, Monterey. This year, the NonStop Community will be celebrating fifty years of NonStop – a major milestone for any computer vendor.

This event of course gets all the press, but in advance of it, there’s a key event taking place in Dallas Texas , on September 6 at the Plano Marriott where OmniPayments plans to celebrate and make the most of the 50 year celebration of the founding of that company we all know and love, the Tandem corporation.  Let me summarize their history for you.

At its birth it was the 1974 startup of the year.  Names such as Jimmy Treybig and Dave Mackie went on to become pillars of the institution.  They spotted a gap in the market for customers who were suffering unpredictable problems of downtime, and there was plenty of demand where customers across varying industry sectors needed to guarantee service levels.  Banks, Stock Exchanges were the early targets and as ATMs were gaining popularity, Tandem’s role driving ATMs made Tandem the first front-end system to the traditional IBM-dominated banking world.

At the Monterey event, TBC by the sea 22-24 September, OmniPayments, as gold sponsors, will be making sure we celebrate the Fifty Years of NonStop in style, participating in the opening event.  Stay tuned for other exciting news which, subject to availability, may well include wine tasting, or even a mini-version of the Paris Olympic games featuring beer-lifting. It’s very interesting to note that OmniPayments’ customers now include Banks, Card Issuers, Card Acquirers, Card Processors, Government, and Retailers. We plan to be joined by several customers across the various verticals including Casa Ley, Synchrony Bank, Registro Civil, and Palacio.
