comforte presents on ZeroTrust at BITUG in London
comforte
comforte attended and sponsored the BITUG BIG SIG event held on June 8-9 at Trinity House in London. It was the first face-to-face NonStop event in a long time, and attendees seemed to thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere and the (old or rather renewed) experience of meeting and talking to real people.
The BITUG committee put on yet another great event (BIG Thank You!!), and we’re already looking forward to next year’s BITUG flagship event in Edinburgh (May 15-17, 2023)!
comforte’s presentation at BITUG was about ZeroTrust, and Helmut Bernhard talked about how data-centric security helps strengthen an organisation’s general security posture. As he pointed out in his talk, ZeorTrust (ZT) is not a standard or technology but a methodology of not trusting users, devices, and applications and only granting minimal access to the company’s resources.
However, what attackers are really after is valuable data. That’s where data-centric security comes into play. It fits hand-in-glove with the ZT idea in that the data itself is protected from malicious intruders and renders the sensible data worthless for the attacker.
