It’s the year 2020! A new year! A new decade!
Looking back briefly at the last ten years, it’s fair to say that information technology has advanced greatly. Ten years ago, we did not anticipate disruptive business models like Uber and Airbnb or the significant change in the provision of IT infrastructure and consumption of IT services. Examples are developments like the Cloud, Internet of Things and the significant advancements in the electronic payments space.
HP(E) NonStop also underwent great changes. Ten years ago the NonStop hardware was not quite industry standard but HPE invested a lot of money and energy to migrate NonStop system to standard components including x86 chips. Today HPE NonStop software has much broader appeal as it is deployable on any x86 hardware and can be virtualized. Entering the new decade and looking beyond 2020, NonStop as a Service (NSaaS) may become the next successful move for NonStop.
And then there is cybersecurity and the increase in the number of data breaches, the growing sophistication of attacks, and ever-rising demands on compliance with regional, national and international rules and regulations like PCI DSS and GDPR.
In this video, Warren Poschman the Tokenization, Encryption and Data Protection Specialist at comforte AG attempts to identify cybersecurity trends on the horizon for 2020 and beyond, analyzing today’s threat landscape – and anticipating tomorrow’s – to help organizations prepare for the future.
Highlights:
We have passed the virtualization era and are moving into the cloud
Emerging trends are: containerization, orchestration of technologies and expansion of the Internet of Things
The need to learn from the past and evolve if we want to break the endless cycle of breaches
The threats against data will become more sophisticated
Our sense of Privacy will be altered within the next ten years
