ETI Aug 21 -1

ETI-NET has been always an ardent supporter of NonStop events. For more than three decades, our participation has represented one of our most focused marketing efforts. In that time it has led to ETI-NET products becoming part of the NonStop product offering. With the BackBox (BB) together with virtual BackBox (vBB) ETI-NET has been meeting the data backup needs of NonStop customers everywhere.

The importance of NonStop events cannot be understated. Even as you will see references to the ETI-NET products included in HPE NonStop presentations, there is always value to ETI-NET in covering our products in-person. The upcoming NonStop Technical Boot Camp (TBC) 2021 will once again be an event that will have the full support of ETI-NET. As one of just a few Platinum Sponsors, you will be hard pressed to miss our presence in Denver.

We will be complementing the HPE NonStop presentation with additional information as the NonStop team will focus on providing just the high-level data points. More important still is that in presenting the complete product portfolio, ETI-NET will ensure that NonStop users have an opportunity to see where ETI-NET is directing its attention even as they are given an opportunity to discuss any product within the ETI-NET product portfolio in detail with those directly engaged with the development of our products.

If you have a conflict with regards to attending our presentation you will be able to catch us in the Partner Pavilion to be held in the Colorado Ballroom. As a Platinum Sponsor we will be situated right next to HPE and its NonStop booth so please consider this as your open invitation to stop by and talk to the representatives of ETI-NET that will be present at our table.

“We always enjoy every opportunity to meet with the NonStop community,” said ETI-NET COO, Sylvain Tétreault. “While considerable focus will be directed at BB and vBB, it is with the new product offerings that we hope to explore further with the community. Perhaps the most interest will be directed at our offerings in support provided by ETI-NET for the Quest product QoreStor embedded with the BackBox VTC.”

Consider this yet another opportunity to leverage cloud resources in the pursuit of more cost-friendly and performance beneficial solutions to data backup. When it comes to performance, “Already with QoreStor we are getting 20x average compression/dedupe of data for periods of 90 day retention,” said Tétreault. If you missed reading our previous article published in the July issue of NonStop Insider and are reading about our support for QoreStor for the first time, then you would have missed reading of how:

“The BackBox/QoreStor allows the customer to keep a hybrid environment, one dedupe with QoreStor and one non-dedupe with regular storage.

“So the beauty is that the customer can, on the same BackBox VTC, create a datastore without dedupe and move its current tapes there and create a second datastore with QoreStor for all the new backup.

“Once the legacy backup in the first datastore expires, then the disk spaces can be moved to the second datastore for QoreStor to use it. So no migration is needed.”

To read a more comprehensive coverage of QoreStor check out the July article in NonStop Insider, ETI-Net benefits from early customer dialogues; support for QoreStor headed for production  Make sure when you are on the floor of the Partner Pavilion to ask us how deployment of our support of QoreStor is going in a production environment as we will have more to say about the progress we have made to date. For many attendees at major NonStop events, including the upcoming NonStop TBC2021, it is all about the networking opportunities. To meet likeminded members of the NonStop community and to discuss at length the potential of new products and features has always been the highlight of such events. After a period of virtual experiences, it will be an interesting experience for many to be returning to an in-person conference and as for vendors like ETI-NET, it represents a welcome opportunity to reconnect with NonStop users that we have not had an opportunity to meet in quite some time. We will be there and we hope to see you all!

Should you now have any questions about our participation in the upcoming NonStop TBC 2021 or need more information about any of the products in the ETI-NET product portfolio, don’t hesitate giving us a call or sending us an email.
