2021. What an interesting year. With the world turned upside down by a pandemic that seemingly had its sights set on...
From the San Francisco NonStop Technical Boot Camp (TBC)
An overview by comForte of a highly successful event
comForte
DanIt was really good to hear attendance from NonStop customers was up this year, compared to the previous TBC event. This may indicate that NonStop professionals are looking to do more with their NonStop systems and understand what solutions are available for their organization. The Connect organization, working closely with HPE NonStop product management, did an excellent job scheduling vendor presentations throughout the 4 day event to ensure attendees were able to hear from presenters sharing their experiences or talking about solving customer problems and concerns.
Keynote presentations and breakout session topics centered on data protection and modernization, as well as other topics, which drew a lot of interest: blockchain and development.
comForte hosted 4 presentations associated with data protection or modernization:
- Pre-Conference Seminar on “How to best deploy Enterprise-wide data protection with your NonStop”, which showed a demo of SecurDPS Enterprise working with an Apache Kafka environment
- Vendor Theater session on “How the new ANSI X9 standard for tokenization will help you meet compliance and regulation requirements” (https://youtu.be/U3Gh2i3ybCY)
- Breakout Session on “Big Data – Big Risk? How your NonStop can help tackle a Big Challenge with Tokenization” (https://youtu.be/NA3rkyaHGSw)
- comForte also presented “Digital Transformation: real-world examples of modernizing HPE NonStop Applications” (https://youtu.be/5J1VnuLnpdU)
For blockchain, HPE presented their views on one of the directions blockchain seems to be headed, which is distributed ledger. It will be interesting to see how the HPE NonStop plays a role in blockchain and to see customer adoption of this technology.
For development topics, a solution which caught a lot of attention was NSGit – which is the NonStop Guardian front-end for the Git environment. During the Pre-conference Seminar, Randall Becker presented NSGit and how Software Configuration Management (SCM) works, and attendees learned that code management in their Enterprise can now include the NonStop, and go beyond the reach of the OSS subsystem, all way to include Guardian OS. This may become a hot product in 2018, as many companies are, or have standardized their SCM with Git in their Enterprise.
Our view of the event
We at comForte brought a full team to support this event. Our theme in our exhibition space was “Secure your Growth” which represents providing solutions in multiple key areas to help customers keep up with customer demands and increases in volume, all while keeping data secure.
Our partners were fully represented at TBC17 as well. TIC, Nexbridge, DataExpress, Infrasoft, 4Tech, TANDSoft, Gemini, and CarrScott, also had either an exhibition stand or were available during the event for conversations. We all support HPE NonStop technology and are ready to help customers successfully implement solutions to secure their growth.
During an invitation-only dinner event sponsored by comForte, our CEO – Michael Deissner made a few announcements highlighting key developments happening at comForte.
- comForte SecurDPS already has been extended beyond NonStop systems as it was announced at TBC 2016. New this year, SecurDPS has been extended to offer more options in the Enterprise, including Tokenization as a Service, meaning data protection using tokenization can occur off-premise – even in the cloud. Companies will be able to provide one of the strongest data protection methods for sensitive data, while ensuring full control over the core tokenization functionality, anywhere. SecurDPS Enterprise addresses massive scalability, rapid deployment, and fail-over. Find out more at https://www.comforte.com/products/protect/securdps/
- comForte has formed a strategic partnership with an established software solution provider for electronic payments – ArsBlue, and through this partnership, comForte and ArsBlue will jointly take a digital payments suite to market – starting first in Europe where many banks and payment providers have an immediate need to address PSD2 and 3rd Party ‘open banking’ requirements. Our exhibition area also hosted a barista, where attendees were welcome to a fresh cup of coffee, while talking with members of our team. And this year, we handed out t-shirts with hashtag phrases promoting some of our key messages:
#TOKENIZE DATA #UNBREACHABLE
#ENCRYPTED AND I KNOW IT #MISSIONCRITICAL
