Gravic Celebrates 45 Years of History

Gravic published an article, Gravic, Inc. Celebrates its 45^th Anniversary – Then vs. Now, in the May/June issue of The Connection. It shares stories from our origins and history, while expressing our gratitude for everyone who worked with Gravic over the past 45 years. You do not want to miss the throwback picture of the Holenstein brothers!

After an explanation of how Gravic got its name, the article highlights each of the four separate groups included in Gravic: Remark Software, Shadowbase Software, Remark Innovations, and Gravic Labs. In particular, Shadowbase Software has grown exponentially over the decades, from a simple data replication solution to a large suite of software products with immeasurable benefits to our mission-critical, enterprise class, customers.

MEXTUG, Mexico City – May16

Similar to last year, presentations started later than planned because everyone was very much enjoying reconnecting. Most of the speakers presented in Spanish before a lively and respectful crowd; even across cultures, everyone was able to share some laughs during the sessions. Fabian Manfredi of HPE provided an HPE NonStop Update discussing the current systems available and new potential system architectures. Paden Holenstein of Gravic presented HPE Shadowbase Resiliencia Digital para Sistemas HPE NonStop highlighting:

NYTUG, Berkeley Heights, NJ – May 16

The NYTUG event this year, held in Berkeley Heights, NJ, was a resounding success, with15 customers attending!

The presentations focused mainly on the current industry topics of Digital Resilience, Data Security and Data Compliance. Gravic presented HPE Shadowbase Solutions: Maximize NonStop Digital Resilience with Data Replication, Integration, and Validation.

Thank you to all who made the event meaningful and a definite success! With additional volunteers we can look forward to future events of equal or greater success.

MATUG, Reston, VA – May 14

The MATUG meeting was held at the HPE office in the Reston Town Center, Virginia. The day began and ended with two interesting HPE presentations: John Vollers presented HPE Strategy and NonStop Roadmap, and John Zimsky presented Deploying REST Applications to NonStop. Seven other informative vendor presentations were given. We presented HPE Shadowbase Solutions: Maximize NonStop Digital Resilience with Data Replication, Integration, and Validation.

It was a meaningful event, with a lot of camaraderie and networking, and we are hopeful to see more customers attend next year. Thanks to John Vollers, Paden Holenstein, Paul Holenstein, and Susan Pridham for helping plan the event.

N2TUG, Dallas, TX – May 2

N2TUG was held at the Hurst Conference Center in Hurst, Texas. Karen Ramirez (HPE Director of NonStop North America Sales) presented a NonStop Business Update and Richard Conine (HPE Solutions Architect) presented on Digital Resilience. Diane Funkhouser discussed Camp Esperanza and the upcoming Tandem Golden Anniversary Celebration.

Later in the day, Paden Holenstein of Gravic presented on HPE Shadowbase Solutions and Data Recovery for Cybersecurity. Increasing Ransomware attacks and new regulations like DORA are driving the need for stronger HPE NonStop Digital Resilience. HPE Shadowbase Data Recovery solutions and Ransomware recovery requirements like air-gapped systems, Bare-metal Recovery, and Data Validation to enable rapid Data Recovery with transactional consistency to a trusted state were discussed. The HPE Shadowbase Roadmap and exciting innovations such as Zero Data Loss and Heterogeneous Compare were also reviewed.
