Striim rocks the awards season!

Looking ahead to what we see coming from HPE as far as the NonStop marketplace goes, it’s hard avoiding resorting to clichés and truisms. After all, HPE has invested a lot in NonStop over the past couple of years and we expect to see their latest addition to the NonStop family of systems – the new NonStop X system – begin shipping in volume. And of course, we anticipate seeing early forays into the marketplace by the even newer virtual NonStop (vNonStop) as and when it begins shipping. So the signals are all flashing telling us to expect a good year for NonStop and the timing couldn’t be any better for Striim.

Having been in business for just a short time, Striim has garnished praise from multiple sources and is being recognized as a significant contributor in the world of big data, analytics and IoT. Probably just as importantly, Striim has now been selected by NonStop users for deployment in their enterprises and while the types of use case scenarios has varied widely, this too only adds to the value proposition of Striim. Yes, Striim is cool technology from a cool company but how did this come about in such a short span of time? Turns out that 2016 can now be best summarized as the year of awards as far as Striim is concerned, with almost every publication of note awarding Striim a prize in just about every category where Striim participates.

What follows here is a short recap of Striim’s “award season” and just like the movie industries Academy Awards, Striim proved popular across many genres:

NetworkWorld (March 31, 2016):

Brandon Butler from Network World magazine includes Striim in his list of Cool New Products at Strata + Hadoop World in San Jose this week. Striim version 3.2 is recognized for providing an end-to-end platform for streaming integration and intelligence.

Forrester (May 10, 2016):

Striim, Inc., today announced that it has been recognized as a “Strong Performer” in Big Data Streaming Analytics in the recently published report titled, “The Forrester Wave™: Big Data Streaming Analytics, Q1 2016.” The report further states that “all data is born fast,” and that “most AD&D pros aren’t fully exploiting real-time streaming data that flows from IoT devices and mobile, web, and enterprise apps.” The report goes on to point out that, “Striim’s philosophy, to provide insights the moment they are born, positions it well for IoT applications.”

CRN 2016 BIG DATA 100 (May 16, 2016):

Striim is proud to be recognized as one of the top data management vendors in CRN’s 2016 Big Data 100. The report highlights how the Striim platform combines streaming data integration and streaming operational intelligence in one system, enabling continuous query/processing and streaming analytics.

Gartner Cool Vendor 2016 (May 23, 2016):

Striim, Inc., today announced that it has been recognized as a “cool vendor” in the “Cool Vendors in In-Memory Computing Technology, 2016” [1]report by Gartner, Inc. In-memory computing (IMC) is defined as enabling “a range of real-time analytics scenarios, including event stream processing, context brokering and hybrid transaction/analytical processing.” Among the recommendations, the report suggests that application architecture leaders, “Favor IMC-enabled real-time analytics platforms that can support your use cases by providing the needed capabilities as an integrated out-of-the box feature set. This will help you contain implementation, maintenance, administration and support costs.”

DATANAMI READERS’ CHOICE AWARD (September 19, 2016):

Striim, Inc., is honored to have been awarded the Datanami Readers’ Choice Award for Best Big Data Product or Technology: Internet of Things (IoT). “The Striim streaming analytics platform operates at the intersection of Enterprise, Cloud and IoT,” said Steve Wilkes, founder and CTO of Striim. “We are honored that Datanami Readers recognized the Striim platform for its ability to deliver real-time edge processing and analysis of insane volumes of IoT data.”

INNOVATION ENTERPRISE 2016 BIG DATA AWARD (October 25, 2016):

Striim, Inc., has been awarded the 2016 Data Award for “Most Advanced Data Solution” by Innovation Enterprise (IE). The Big Data Awards acknowledge organizations that have pioneered Big Data initiatives that have or will have an overall positive impact within the Big Data community. “Striim’s impact on Big Data focuses on leveraging the power of real time to make fast data instantly valuable,” said Steve Wilkes, founder and CTO of Striim. “We are thrilled that the growing community around the Innovation Enterprise Big Data events has recognized Striim’s ability to help transform Big Data architectures into platforms for real-time insights and smart decisions.”

The hard part is now over and the rewards given out during 2016 are all highly prized by Striim. They all recognize just how technologically advanced the Striim solution is even as they give credence to just how well Striim understands the marketplace. Big data, stream analytics, IoT – maybe not all items immediately associated with NonStop and yet, where HPE is taking NonStop in 2017, all apply and it’s a positive sign for the NonStop community that early adoption of Striim among NonStop users has commenced.
