TCM has extended its services in Scandinavia following the successful migration of DXC Technology’s NonStop operations to TCM. DXC (formerly CSC) had been providing NonStop services to a number of customers across Scandinavia. TCM was initially engaged to supplement DXC’s in-house team to assist with increasingly heavy workloads and cost control initiatives. DXC had been struggling to cost effectively acquire the NonStop skillsets it required and was encouraged by TCM’s breadth of NonStop skills, flexible approach, immediate availability and willingness to adapt:

“We had some difficult challenges to reduce our current support cost, provide backfill with skilled resources and at the same time, ensure the very best services for our customers and their most critical systems. We approached TCM to look at their Cloud-based Systems Management service. TCM quickly put a solution together which provided us with cost savings and a better and safer service than we could provide by hiring new and skilled resources.”

Senior Service Delivery Manager, Scandinavian Region, DXC Technology

TCM’s involvement began by providing a simple backfill service through TCM’s UK Centre of Excellence, but as demands continued to grow, TCM invested in the partnership with DXC by appointing local Scandinavian NonStop resource to act as an onsite TCM team. TCM’s hybrid onsite/remote solution quickly became a key part of DXC’s NonStop support facility with TCM increasingly being asked to assume more responsibility for the service, this included performing key roles in multiple projects, upgrades and migrations.

With a need to control the cost of supporting NonStop in Scandinavia, the two parties agreed a dedicated NonStop support organization would be better placed to manage the ongoing solution. Having had first-hand experience of TCM’s NonStop expertise and service management excellence, DXC was confident their customers would continue to receive exemplary NonStop support directly from TCM and thus initiated the process of the full handover of service.

TCM is now responsible for a range of customers in Scandinavia, providing day-to-day Systems Management and 24×7 Operations, the provision of a multi-customer backup solution, as well as fully outsourced NonStop solutions comprising all related services, hosting and system ownership. By mid-2018, TCM will have complete two further NonStop X upgrade projects, the migration from GoldenGate to Shadowbase and a newly developed backup/DR solution.

DXC, TCM and the Scandinavia NonStop customers are delighted with the progress that has been made in the last year and the services being provided by TCM. TCM is looking forward to their new and significant role in the Scandinavian NonStop user-base. TCM will continue to develop its onsite/remote services in the region, providing cost-effective, highly secure NonStop solutions for customers and is aiming to capitalize on its ever-growing Scandinavian footprint as a base to reach out to other customers in the region and Northern Europe, as always, ensuing the future sustained availability of these critical services.
