TCM takes flight at TBC 2018

We enter the holiday season with renewed vigour, as the buzz of this year’s TBC still rings in our ears. Connect never fails to deliver on the biggest event of the year, and 2018’s NonStop Technical Boot Camp was no exception, treating the NonStop Community to a wealth of updates, information and fun social events.

TCM once again attended as sponsors, and as always filled our booth with info-packs jammed full of descriptions of our ever-growing list of NonStop services, promotional goodies and our now infamous Glenrothes Single Malt.

With this year’s boot camp choosing to do away with the passport to prizes draw, the vendors were encouraged to run their own prize-giving competition. Never one to miss out on an opportunity to turn a room full of adults into children, TCM’s competition took the form of a plane throwing competition. TCM provided the planes (our new foam promo planes – great for kids young and old) and instructed competitors to modify their aircraft with whatever they could lay their hands on. The only rules were that the plane must still resemble an actual plane, and that it must still glide – thus rejecting one suggestion of stapling the foam to a rock and throwing it across the hall! Ouch.

As one may expect, laying down such a technical challenge to a room full of engineers certainly led to some interesting entrants. Promptly at 7.30am Wednesday morning, the Great TCM Plane Toss Competition took place. Crowds gathered, ooh’s and aah’s echoed with every twist, turn and fall and by 8am we had our champion – Dimitri Paspont from NonStop Academy, with a throw so huge we actually ran out of hall. Congratulations Dimitri, we hope you enjoy your prize.

Needless to say, we will be back again at TBC 2019 and most likely will run a similar competition, but this time with some refinements including runways, gates and some suggested plane modification accessorise. Also, we must give an honourable mention to Mark Chapman for his esteemed engineering efforts. The plane may not have flown the furthest, but it certainly looked good while it did!

TCM DEC 18 -2

As for TCM, 2018 has been a busy year. We continue to grow our business, build our team, expand our geographical reach and develop the services and solutions we can provide our  NonStop customers. 2019 looks set to be more of the same, and we are looking forward to the challenge.

So if you or your organisation requires help or assistance with any of the following, you know who to call:

We wish everyone well over the festive period and look forward to seeing you all in 2019!
