Editorial December 2025
Here it is, end of the year 2025 issue of the NonStop Insider!
The TCM article which Concentrates on the value of the communities “Nonstop Communities – key to TCM engagement with Nonstop customers.” TCM writes “2025 has been a year where Nonstop communities have come together at locations spread across the four corners of the globe. From Chile to Australia, from Canada to Mexico, From Dublin to Utrecht. And many more places. At many of these gatherings, you will have seen the presence of TCM.” Do read to find out more about TCM’s view on value of in-person meetings.
In the article “Infrasoft and NTI: Delivering on the promise of Partnerships” you will read: “Together, Infrasoft and NTI provide a unified platform for both continuity and modernization. With the product integration, the two partners ensure business continuity proceeds without interruption even as the enterprise requirements for business integration in a world of Hybrid IT moves ahead unabated.” If you want to see how that is accomplished read the article and see the picture!
NTI article “NTI strikes gold!” says: “Irrespective of the sponsorships being silver, gold, platinum and more, for the NTI team, 2025 was a year we truly struck gold. NTI marketing elevated the posture of NTI but more importantly, new products became available, new partnerships delivered and yes, customers migrated away from legacy solutions to more modern offerings from NTI. As a company we embraced migrations as a way to publicly convey how well we were meeting Nonstop customer requirements midway through this decade.” Read the article to see how NTI indeed strikes gold.
We have Justin Simonds, HPE Master Technologist, article titled “Are HPE Nonstop systems expensive? where author says: “In conclusion, as I have contended for many years, the HPE Nonstop system delivers superior value for highly available, mission-critical workloads over five years, primarily through lower staff costs, hardware consolidation, and simpler patch management processes than a Linux cluster running Oracle RAC and MAA”
Justin provides references to let you know how he is building his opinion – I found the article comprehensive and you may want to use it in justifying your purchase of the Nonstop system.
In the article “Be Bold! Go for it!” by Keith Moore, Distinguished Technologist at HPE, the one paragraph made me particularly optimistic: “We at HPE are about BOLD changes. BOLD goals. BOLD expectations. With our new Nonstop CTO (Franz Koenig) in place, we have started on a mission to deliver BOLD customer-focused products and support. I have always been about picking stretch goals and projects for the coming year. In other words, let’s all go for it!” The article touches on many topics you may have always wanted to know!
In the Richard Buckle’s Real Time View article “When the worlds we know as classical and quantum computing become intertwined, there will be a place for Nonstop! “ you will read “In 2025, the first baby steps became visible as the HPE Nonstop Compute team looks to align more closely with the bigger HPE. Here, it continues to be a multifaced strategy, reflecting the hybrid nature of HPE spanning Compute, Storage, Networking together with the fabrics that make all the pieces gel into place.” Well, you need to read to find out more.
The CSP article “Every System Has Vulnerabilities Do You Know Where Yours Are?” CSP provides information on how CSP company helps with identifying and correcting security vulnerabilities: “Vulnerability Management can help mitigate risks and improve your security posture. An effective operational risk management framework includes regularly reviewed and updated policies and procedures, a risk classification system that includes categories of risks related to people, inadequate internal processes and systems, and external events, and assessment and monitoring tools to evaluate risks and controls.” If you worry how to prevent security bridges you should read this article!
Mike Mitsch writes in the ETI-Net article “Enhancing HPE NonStop Backup Security with
Intelligent Anomaly Detection,” something we can all agree upon: “While the introduction of anomaly detection for NonStop backup data does not replace traditional cybersecurity software, it provides a valuable complementary layer of insight—especially crucial for NonStop environments that handle high volumes of transactional data.” Read the article to find out more.
“NuWaves’ 2025 in Review – and What’s Ahead for 2026” article talks about products and participation of NuWave in community events, as well as letting us NuWave plans for 2026. To me this paragraph stood out – it could be the start of the trend in the world of travel restrictions (budgets and safety concerns).
“In addition, we hosted Virtual TUG 2025 by NuWave, bringing together HPE, clients, vendors, partners, and users from around the globe in a fully online, interactive format. The event provided a platform to showcase new solutions, discuss best practices, and engage in meaningful conversations with our community – all from the convenience of participants’ own locations. Participants tuned in for updates, and conversations that helped bridge the gap between in-person gatherings.”
TIC Software article talks about the product, TIC Software Navigator in the context of “GenAI and Knowledgebase: The Way to Build Your Next Nonstop Team”. It is a very important article in the times when “Many HPE Nonstop sites share the same concern. The people who built and ran these systems for years are getting close to retirement. They know the history, the shortcuts, and all the “landmines.” When they leave, the applications will still be running, but the real understanding of how everything fits together may not.”
TIC is an active participant in the New to Nonstop (N2NS) community: “N2NS connects new members with mentors, peers, and curated resources across customers, partners, and vendors. Through sessions, Rotary talks, and networking, N2NS helps newcomers understand the technology and also what a Nonstop career can look like.”
In the article by Lusis Payments Team “Reflecting on 2025: Growth, Innovation, and Global Success” you will read about 2025 progress of the Tango product implementations worldwide and you will be glad to see that: “Behind the scenes, our teams continued to make significant enhancements to TANGO itself. Strengthening cloud-native capabilities, improving observability, expanding issuing and acquiring features, and delivering new automation tools. These updates are all designed with one goal in mind: helping you move faster, operate more efficiently, and stay ahead in a rapidly changing payments landscape.”
As published by the Gravic Team, “Gravic Shares Product Innovations, Customer Successes, and Preview of 2026” this article summarizes 2025: “As 2025 comes to a close, the Shadowbase Team here at Gravic, Inc. is grateful for a year marked by growth, strong customer engagement, and major strides in Business Continuity, Data Integration, Data Validation, and Digital Resilience. Across global user groups, POCs, and partner events, we were thrilled to have had the opportunity to connect with customers and showcase the next generation of Shadowbase technologies.” The ending is about 2026’s plans: “As we move into 2026, our mission remains the same: deliver trusted, modern solutions that ensure availability, integrity, resiliency, and insight for mission-critical enterprises.” You need to read the article as there is more there that may be of interest to you.
The article from comforte “Supporting Nonstop Enterprises with TAMUNIO Transit” describes TAMUNIO Transit offering – in summary: “a powerful solution to the business and technology challenges presented by insecure data flows. It reduces the risk of data interception, and future-proofs Nonstop organizations against advanced quantum threats. And it does so while lowering operational overheads, thanks to centralized credential management and standards-based interoperability.” Read the article for more information.
Richard Buckle, in his OpEd contribution, “No conference for long-serving Nonstop alumni?” is a personal reflection on passing of time, inevitable changes and is a nostalgic tribute to the Nonstop platform and people who made it what it became.
“It proved to be a sobering time walking around the exhibition pavilions and rooms at this year’s major Nonstop events. While at the venues of Dublin and Houston as they hosted the E-BITUG and Nonstop Technical and Business conferences respectively, there was a clear thinning of the presence of community members who have been part of the fabric of Nonstop for many years and decades with some members approaching half-century milestones. The numbers are noticeably thinning as retirements call, interests that were once more of a hobby begin to take center stage and more unfortunate still, some members are on longer with us.”
I hope you will enjoy the last of the 2025 issues of the NonStop Insider.
