Editorial April 2026
The E-GTUG is behind us; everyone we talked to felt that it was a great event and well worth attending and supporting!
You will read about the event in many of the articles, but let me start with a serious concern expressed by Justin Simonds, HPE Master Technologist: Cybercrime: Now the World’s 3rd Largest Economy as he addresses a crime that is becoming more prevalent today and difficult to stop.
Justin says: “Surprisingly and I’d say tragically cybercrime at $10.2 trillion (Microsoft estimate) comes in as the third largest economy in the world. The aggregate cost of cybercrime now exceeds the GDPs of Germany and Japan, ranking it third if we were to treat it as an “economy” and isn’t that both sad and a bit terrifying.”
Do read the article it is very informative and ends with what Justin concludes is the way to approach the problem: “Success requires the combined efforts of individuals, organizations, and governments to both deny attackers entry and impose meaningful consequences on malicious actors. Many of these are out-of-scope but figure out what you can do in your environment and harden it as much as possible.”
NTI article was written as we were getting ready to go to the conference, NTI: Breaking cover. Telling stories. Making news! This article talks about what were the expectation and plans for the conference. Timing was perfect as The Connection was just published and we at NTI were very excited! “Featured as the cover article of the Mar – Apr, 2026 issue of The Connection, the opportunity for NTI CEO, Cody Newton, to provide a company, product and partnership update couldn’t have been timelier. We at NTI are heading to Munich for E-GTUG, the European Nonstop Symposium, 2026, as this update was being delivered for print, where NTI will once again be highly visible as a Platinum Sponsor of the event.”
The article then addresses a new product: “Partnerships and a continuing development around an NTI partner ecosystem delivers results. A new product, uLinga Nexus developed by Infrasoft, distributed and supported by NTI, will feature prominently. Joining the NTI team at NTI’s symposium’s vender area will be Infrasoft’s Director of Business Operations, Andrew Price.
Infrasoft article, Infrasoft: AI and the Nonstop Advantage – Why Native Integration Still Wins, states: “When AI access is enabled directly on Nonstop, using Guardian process pairs and standards-based interfaces, the result is fundamentally different. Existing Pathway servers, Guardian IPC services and TCP/IP applications can be exposed securely through REST APIs and, increasingly, through standards such as the Model Context Protocol (MCP). This allows AI clients, agents and modern applications to interact with proven Nonstop business logic without requiring disruptive application rewrites.
This is precisely the design philosophy behind uLinga Nexus.”
Richard Buckle’s Op Ed column – When the number of “Eyes” represents shared information! – Clearly, this is a personal touch on the two of us working together for nearly 3 decades: “At a time when our attention has been directed at the ‘Five Eyes’ – the sharing of intelligence among five nations with common global interests – maybe it’s time to reflect on my family’s ‘Two Eyes’.”
I am not sure what Richard really wants (must be something?) when he writes: “Fast forward to today where, for almost two decades, we have worked together as modern-day town-criers! Storytellers of the modern age. I may write the story but the influence, yes, the insight, is a shared (and always acknowledged) pursuit. Margo has edited every line I have ever written just as she has provided critical contributions to the storylines. Two eyes? Yes, I am often left speechless (no, that does not really happen) when her intuition has led to a substantial redirection of a storyline to where it became more relevant (and yes, far more readable).”
Yeah, I guess in the family kissing up is permitted. You may be amazed at the coincidences Richard is describing.
From TIC Software – Now Is the Time to Future-Proof Nonstop you will read Phil Ly, President, TIC Software’s description of the TIC’s product: “TIC Navigator was purpose-built to harness this power specifically for Nonstop environments. Rather than relying on generic, out-of-the-box LLMs, Navigator layers deep Nonstop domain expertise on top of GenAI — handling Nonstop-native constructs like TMF transactions, Pathway, TAL, and ENSCRIBE data structures more than what general-purpose models understand. This is much more than just throwing your code into ChatGPT. TIC Navigator is built on TIC’s deep Nonstop knowledge base, combined with rigorous AI context engineering and software engineering principles. The result is accurate, meaningful insights with dramatically reduced hallucinations, grounded in verified code facts.”
Do read the article – you will find it very timely and interesting.
From TCM – Once again, E-GTUG delivers! You will read about TCM’s impressions of the conference and enthusiastic support of the Nonstop gatherings. What I’d like to highlight is the appreciation of the TCM efforts by members of our community. According to published Connect Community commentary on their web site, “Connect wishes to thank TCM Solutions, the current host of ITUGLIB. TCM Solutions is responsible for setup and management of our Virtual Nonstop, and provides power, bandwidth and on-site management for hosting ITUGLIB.” Coming directly from a Nonstop community stalwart supporter who was closely associated with this project, Bill Honaker, “When the older J-series hosting ITUGLIB needed replacement, TCM stood up to offer hosting on a server at their site. The migration went quite smoothly, and we’ve been hosted on a Virtual Nonstop since then. We wouldn’t be where we are without their strong support… and that continues.”
When it came to supporting other Nonstop vendors, TCM’s choice of Proxmox for vNS, proved a good fit for supporting Xypro’s development and test environment. This project has gone well for XYPRO. Steve Tcherchian, XYPRO Technology CEO shared the sentiment of Connect when he said, “TCM has been a true extension of our team, consistently providing the expertise, responsiveness, and reliability we need to deliver a best-in-class experience for our customers.” Please read the article – you will find out more about TCM works!
A new product announcement from TCM – From InSight to Optimiser+: A Smarter Way to Elevate Your NonStop Environment. “Introducing TCM Optimiser+: the next generation of NonStop system assessment.” And: “Optimiser+ is built to empower, not expose. It highlights strengths, validates good practice, and identifies high‑value opportunities to refine and elevate your system. It’s a collaborative optimization cycle, not a compliance checklist.” You may want to read this one as it should be helpful for all Nonstop users.
From NuWave Technologies – NuWave Technologies Enters New Growth Phase Following Acquisition, Outlines Vision for AI-Driven Integration. “This message is shared by Casey Krasner, CEO of NuWave Technologies, and a Partner.” “Why We Bought NuWave When we made the decision to acquire NuWave, it wasn’t just a business transaction. It was a belief in what this company can become.” Read the article to find out what will change and what stays the same with this acquisition.
From CSP – PCI-DSS Compliance with CSP PassPort you will read: “CSP PassPort provides comprehensive user and command control, password quality enforcement and auditing. It controls and filters user access to systems, programs and commands according to customized user profiles.” Please read the article as it explains why this product is important and valuable to Nonstop users.

You will read “Shadowbase Compare Plus extends the proven Shadowbase Compare engine to validate data across HPE Nonstop and leading enterprise databases, including Oracle, SQL Server, Db2, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Sybase, and SAP HANA.” Read the article to see how Compare Plus can help you!
From Lusis Payments – Enterprise Tokenization: Why Leading Organizations Are Rethinking Data Protection brings us information about new approach by Lusis Payments: “Tokenization replaces sensitive data with randomly generated tokens that have no exploitable value outside of a secure system. Instead of storing real data across your infrastructure, your systems store tokens.” “That’s where TANGO TKS SaaS from Lusis Payments comes in.
Built as a cloud-native platform, TKS SaaS is designed to integrate across payment systems, SaaS platforms, and enterprise applications while maintaining performance and flexibility.” Article is informative and interesting – please read it!
An article from The New to Nonstop Committee – New to Nonstop (N2NS): Newcomer Spotlight bring us an update: “Introducing a new face in the Nonstop community, Klaus Harder. Klaus has been a longstanding member of the HPE team and joined the Nonstop team in February as a Sales Specialist in the Nordics. Charlie Higgins, N2NS Committee Member, sat down with Klaus earlier this month to learn more about him, his journey, and why Nonstop.” Read the article to find out more!
From TANDsoft: TANDsoft Sees Continued Customer Adoption, Releases Latest Version of FS Compare and Repair article you will read: “In recent months, TANDsoft has achieved some significant results, including delivering a new release to the company’s flagship solution, netting new customer wins, and making breakthrough performance gains. Read on to learn more about the solution, the latest enhancements, and recent customer successes.”
From Richard Buckle, comes his Real Time View column – The Nonstop event calendar is highlighting another year of community gatherings. I found this paragraph particularly interesting – “There are good reasons for a reluctance to boost sales of Nonstop. The most notable is the one we all love to read about – the supply chain. Given the current setup to build Nonstop systems, there is no way in which HPE could accommodate a doubling of shipments let alone something as ambitious as supporting programs that lead to a tenfold increase in sales of Nonstop. It is just wishful thinking on the part of the Nonstop community that this level of growth of Nonstop is in the cards HPE holds.” Read and find out more!
