As 2025 comes to a close, the Shadowbase Team here at Gravic, Inc. is grateful for a year marked by growth, strong customer engagement, and major strides in Business Continuity, Data Integration, Data Validation, and Digital Resilience. Across global user groups, POCs, and partner events, we were thrilled to have had the opportunity to connect with customers and showcase the next generation of Shadowbase technologies.

Year in Review

“Out” are the drop-in days of point-product solutions, “in” are the days of extensive partnership with our customers to provide full-featured multi-aspect deployments that span many functional areas. Shadowbase continues to support this transition, helping enterprises address:

• High-volume heterogeneous data integration
• Data validation for auditors and stakeholders
• Digital Resilience against Ransomware and Malware

We thank our customers, partners, and the wider Nonstop community for the collaboration that made 2025 a milestone year.

Team Updates

We celebrated the retirement of longtime Product Manager Keith Evans, whose experience and leadership shaped Shadowbase solutions for more than a decade.

We also congratulate Paden Holenstein on stepping into a new Product Manager role as he transitions from marketing and business development.

The team also wished a happy retirement to Susan Loeliger Pridham, who led Shadowbase’s marketing initiatives for many years.

Recent Releases

Shadowbase Zero Data Loss (ZDL)

• Initial release enabling true zero-data-loss data protection.

High-Performance Cloud Integration

• Array-based processing delivering 10–100× faster heterogeneous data integration.

Enhanced ETL & Streaming Support

• Expanded Kafka, JSON, and flat-file adapters.

Wildcarding Enhancements

• Simpler migration from RDF with improved filtering, wildcarding, and ease-of-use.

Coming 2026

Shadowbase Compare Plus R1

• Validates Nonstop data against Windows/SQL Server and Linux/Oracle.
• Runs natively on Nonstop for comparisons performance and avoids sending sensitive data off-platform.

Compare Plus R2–R4

• Expands cross-platform comparison to Db2, Sybase, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Nonstop SQL.

Digital Resilience R1

• Rapid recovery architecture for Ransomware and Malware attacks.
• Enhanced replay, DoLockStep delivery options, and guided recovery workflows

ZDL R2

• Bi-directional support for continuous protection

Additional roadmap initiatives include AI-assisted monitoring, OpenTelemetry support, and expanded cloud/API integrations.

Professional Services & POCs

Shadowbase’s Delivery Team completed several large POCs across Europe, Japan, Asia-Pacific, and the U.S., including high-throughput (22k TPS) financial workloads and multiple platform refreshes.

Our work with HPE Professional Services and HPE Education continues to expand our joint services and updated training programs for Shadowbase deployments.

Tools Spotlight

Two key essential bundle solutions gained significant attention this year:

• SBLSLOCK – Summarizes locks and associated partitions for easier troubleshooting
• SBLSTRAN – Lists active TMF transactions and supports cutover/failover planning

These tools help customers better understand locking, transaction aging, and replication behavior in their Nonstop environments.

Community Engagement

2025 brought strong participation at global RUGs, TUGs, and conferences. Our main focus was:

• Digital Resilience and Ransomware recovery
• Zero Data Loss architecture
• Heterogeneous Compare advancements
• Real-time data integration and analytics enablement

Event highlights included OZTUG, ChileTUG, SunTUG, MexTUG, NYTUG, CTUG, eBITUG, BITUG Little SIG, and the HPE Nonstop TBC 2025, where Shadowbase hosted multiple sessions and recognized long-term customer excellence.  We loved the opportunities to connect with the Nonstop community and can’t wait to do it again in the new year!
