It’s always good to read about the experience with NonStop that comes from someone working close to NonStop and for a very long time. In this instance, NonStop community members might have seen this posted recently on LinkedIn.

Individual NonStop journeys are always something to read about and, in this case, corresponds with the experiences of many within the NonStop community. It is also an encouragement for others within the NonStop community to post their own experience with NonStop on social media sites.

The post (below) is also a reminder why initiatives like the New to NonStop Special Interest Group (SIG) plans to lean on so many experienced members of the NonStop community and why a key element of this SIG will come from leveraging mentors.

“My transformative experience was discovering HPE NonStop back in 2006. At the time, I was navigating through the usual IT grind, learning technologies and delivering projects. But when I stepped into the world of NonStop, everything changed — not just technically, but philosophically.

“It wasn’t just a system; it was a mindset.

“The platform’s design around always-on reliability, graceful fault tolerance, and precision under pressure reshaped how I approached every challenge — from technology architecture to team leadership. It taught me that resilience isn’t just an attribute of platforms; it’s a leadership trait.

“That one shift transformed my role from an engineer executing tasks to a strategist driving platform resilience, modernization, and people transformation across mission-critical financial systems.

“It gave my career meaning and direction — and eventually became my purpose and now I would like to give back to future Technologists, where I am investing so much time to mentor, coach them to build future technologists, since its niche skills someone can have and become passionate about it.”
