Traditions … they play a central role within TCM

Over time, routines develop. That is to say, it becomes easier over time to simply follow in the footsteps of others. At TCM, there are several things you can count on – premier levels of services, bringing the technology and methodologies TCM relies upon forward as products for our customers, and yes, storytelling. Stories abound about the game of golf, cycling in the highlands (with our own Collin Yates just finishing the London to Paris cycling in support of Action Medical Research) and yes, whisky. Engaging in conversation with the TCM team will see almost seamless transition from any of the above to the more serious side of tuning a Nonstop Compute customer’s deployment of Nonstop.

Many years ago, in the early days of TCM’s participation in Nonstop events in America, it was in San Jose for the annual Nonstop TBC, miniature bottles of whisky were left on our vendors table (nicely lined up in rows), only for TCM to arrive the next morning to find an almost empty table. At no time did TCM consider this as being anything other than a positive experience – it seems that whisky is a likeable commodity wherever the Nonstop community gathers. The enthusiasm of the Nonstop vendor community to participate on all occasions, was just one more instance where traditions develop. Few occasions since have seen the return of the miniatures replaced these days with regular size whisky bottles that kept the whisky pours coming.

Routines may develop into traditions but traditions alone are never long-lasting unless they are representation of experiences gained in the real world. We are now past the midway point of 2025 with only the Nonstop Technology & Business Conference, 2025 (Nonstop TBC 25) remaining as a major event as we head towards winter. TCM is sponsoring this event as a Platinum Sponsor and yet again, our vendor table in the exhibition arena will be hard to miss. Will the tradition of golf and whisky continue? “This has become part of who we are and it distances us from our competitors,” said TCM’s Andy Vasey. “Not to say the message we convey is lessened in any way but as we all know, attracting customers and prospects to the presence you have on the exhibition floor is always a key driver behind getting a conversation started.”

Houston may be the location of HPE’s headquarters but for our Scottish team, it will be a new experience. For TCM it will be yet one more long-haul flight but with an opportunity to see many more members of the NSC community and in the full knowledge we can do even better, we will be there! Expect to see us around and about in the hotel as of late Sunday.

This has been a practice of TCM whenever there is distance to cover so if you arrive early, then perhaps we will be able to catch up prior to the official start of the event on Tuesday morning. Like everyone else attending this event, we are looking forward to hearing from the Nonstop management team as the roll-out of their new servers, the HPE Nonstop Compute NS9 X5 and NS5 X5, will likely dominate the sessions that follow that week.

TCM is already hearing about customer deployments taking place. As a company focused on managed services, we are anticipating a greater interest in these latest additions to the Nonstop product portfolio as with clarity, come decisions. It was only a few years back where news began to leak that Nonstop was headed towards virtual offerings and where Nonstop Software would be the primary focus of Nonstop marketing programs. However, this created a less than enthusiastic response from the Nonstop Compute customer community – something TCM witnessed firsthand on more than one occasion – and the switch to a continuation of the converged systems delivery has reignited the enthusiasm for Nonstop.

We at TCM are really looking forward to this main event of the year for the Nonstop Compute community. “Nonstop TBC 25, in Texas, is bound to be big!” said Andy Vasey. “Yet another great opportunity to catch up with old friends and to create new ones; remembering that strangers are the friends we haven’t met yet. There seems to be a buzz about this one, too, whether it’s because of the allure of a large sizzling steak or indeed a tasty tequila, that beckons, what we do know is that it’s going to present new ideas, new opportunities and new aspirations.”

Come attend the TCM session at Nonstop TBC 25 when it presents “Nonstop – How far can we push the boundaries.” Keep returning to the Connect web site to find out more about the scope and direction of this presentation. We look forward to seeing you there and anticipate seeing many familiar faces.

Routines that lead to the formation of traditions where traditions arise from positive past experiences, make a positive impact on all of us. TCM is a close-knit team of highly experienced professionals with a proven track record across the globe. Our reach continues to grow as more and more larger enterprises, dependent on managed services, turn to TCM, a trend we are actively looking to nurture going forward.

Team members always look forward to major Nonstop Compute events as it almost always leads to new ideas and new opportunities. Whether it is at our table in the exhibition hall or attending our presentations, or simply bumping into us during the many evening hospitality gatherings the TCM team looks forward to catching up with everyone in attendance.

There simply isn’t any better alternative to hearing directly from Nonstop customers. The presence and indeed support evident from the Nonstop team attending the event likewise provides a community-friendly way to hear all about where Nonstop as a HPE product offering is headed. And there is no substitution from unfiltered conversations that generally arise in such situations. It is our hope that Nonstop TBC 25 continues the tradition of excellence we have all become accustomed to so, there will be a buzz about the event, a vibrance that will be hard to miss. We will be there as will our golf putting green and our whisky pours – will we see you?
