NTI, Inc. and Infrasoft Pty. Limited announce the availability of upgraded support for Kafka with bidirectional streaming

Following the late last year’s introduction of the NTI solution DRNet®/Unified for Application Integration with outbound support for the Apache Kafka distributed streaming platform, further customer requirements have led to the introduction of additional product features. NTI and Infrasoft are pleased to announce the bidirectional support for Kafka distributed data streaming platform. An extension to the DRNet® product suite, this new addition of Kafka support may be sold standalone or into existing DRNet® environments. This represents another chapter in the modernization of NonStop, even as it confirms the value both vendors place on open-source software.

Given this undeniable synergy, NTI decided to get ahead with a perceived future trend building on this replication baseline. Unique to DRNet® Kafka offering is the support of bi-directional replication whereby NonStop replication can both produce and consume Kafka’s streaming data. Taking the initiative such as this has been a characteristic of NTI since it was founded more than four decades ago.

For the NonStop community, where BASE24, BASE24-eps or Connex payment solutions are relied upon, what makes DRNet® Kafka unique is the unparallel native support of these offerings. No additional products are required. Furthermore, for those considering migrations from Oracle GoldenGate to DRNet® the addition of support for Kafka may prove pivotal in any future evaluations.

There will be many NonStop customers looking to access AI, whether to provide stronger fraud detection capabilities or other purposes such as looking at weather events that might cause network outages. The benefit  that comes with Kafka’s time series database support means that access to Kafka  allows for aggregation of data from multiple sources – a highly valued capability for all NonStop customers.

The depth of cooperation between NTI and Infrasoft has proved invaluable and the ease with which both companies were able to advance this solution speaks volumes about the intent of both parties to ensure the modernization of NonStop continues. Open-source has been associated with modern for a long time and the addition of Kafka support further illustrates that HPE NonStop is a modern transaction-processing platform.

With this news release, the former offering of DRNet®/Unified for Application Integration, a predecessor to DRNet®/Kafka, unveiled at the 2024 NonStop TBC Conference, will be retired. DRNet®/Kafka can be found in DRNet® Release 6.3.01 and is available today.
