Stay Ahead with OmniPayments

Well, the celebration of 50 years of Tandem has whizzed by. The community how has the opportunity to sustain itself in our changing world for the next 50 years.

Given the recent upheaval in the Artificial Intelligence market (AI), there is plenty for us all to consider.  Not only the question of how long will it be before my job is replaced by an AI bot, but more so a question of who is going to dominate this space and find a way to make any money out of it.  It’s all very well that we as users can easily request any book summary, ask it to write code for us, ask for legal advice, that’s the easy part to consider. On the supplier side, a small number of very large companies have been investing heavily in technology from Nvidia, building plans for expensive infrastructure, planning for increases in data center and power demand.

So, when a little-known company from across the sea in China announces the availability of a new market product, DeepSeek, it’s somewhat amusing to watch the stock markets approach something of a meltdown.  The talking heads have for some time now been making it very clear that no market dominant company remains in the lead for ever.  Success attracts competitors even when the narrative says what a great lead the dominant player has and how challenging it will ever be for anyone to ever catch up.

We at OmniPayments have been watching this space very carefully. We seek to leverage AI for the benefits of our customers, most clearly in the space of Fraud Management, where the identification and stopping of in-flight transactions becomes important in a rapidly growing payments market. Transactions are growing month by month, and transaction payment requests can come from anywhere around the globe. An increasing number of them are fraudulent, so must be stopped in their tracks to maintain the integrity of the payment system and to protect bona fide customers.

OmniPayments continues to invest in the R&D required to stay ahead of the game, leveraging AI as we go.  It’s certainly a topic of conversation and we will be touching on this topic at our upcoming events this year is 2025.  Other topics include DORA, Agile rollout, tokenisation for mobile phone support, PCI DSS 4+, Cloud-based payment services, short speed of deployment, Virtual Cards, Contactless technology, QR-code support, interfacing with over 50 payment networks. We’ll have OmniSplunk and OmniKafka on display, our database integration, our Tuxedo migration skills.

Come visit OmniPayments at our stand at the BITUG event in Ireland 3rd-5th June this year. We will also be present at the PKF (or Payments Knowledge Forum) event 2nd October in Leeds. We look forward to seeing you at one or both these events this year.
