Editorial October 2026

This issue of the NonStop Insider is certainly influenced by the TBC 2026!

From TCM Team: Nonstop TBC 2026 Delivers!
Plentiful opportunities to network, engage and address
the year’s biggest gathering of the Nonstop community

The article touches many topics and is certainly worth reading in full! Here a teaser talking about Daniel Craig’s (TCM Managing Director) presentation as part of the event’s “Lightning Sessions”: “’Problems! Problems! Problems!’ Walking onto the stage, highlighting how many conversations between TCM and their customers start with problem descriptions, Daniel Craig then quickly changed gears to remind Nonstop customers that with the presence of Nonstop, they continue to have a competitive advantage.
More so, given TCM’s focus on delivering cohesive modernization, stability through managed services, momentum via our delivery of projects and consulting and perhaps new for many attendees, guidance with our product Optimiser+ helping set a direction for success. ’Bring us your Ambitions,’ certainly hit home for many members of the Nonstop community.”

From the Real Time View column: When data goes bad, career path changes happen

As usually you will need to read the story to find out why Richard said: “As I read more about bad data, I couldn’t help but let my mind drift to past episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

One of the central characters was the android, Data, who became a much-loved personality for many followers of this television series. Data exhibited no emotions that is, until his creator, gave him an emotion “chip.” Overwhelmed with feelings never experienced, for a brief period, Data went bad. Or at least, as bad as an android can become.”

From NTI: Celebrating another successful HPE Nonstop Technology & Business Conference, 2026

“From this year’s Nonstop TBC 2026 conference the biggest take-away was that Nonstop remained supported by a highly visible, growing, community and that NTI was well prepared to grow right alongside this growth of Nonstop. It was encouraging, as we look back at the week, to see so many familiar faces but better still, so many attendees who were attending their very first Nonstop conference. For NTI, this bodes well for the future of Nonstop even as it highlights that the NTI pivot to becoming your data company of choice, will only resonate more strongly across the entire Nonstop community in the days and weeks to come.”

From the New 2 Nonstop Committee: TBC 2026 Brought the Nonstop Community Together: Nonstop Veterans and Those New to Nonstop (N2NS)

“For people early in their Nonstop careers, TBC offered a rare chance to learn directly from experienced professionals and understand where the platform sits today and where it is heading.
Broad industry perspectives from HPE leaders helped newcomers see the bigger picture, while informal conversations made specialist knowledge more accessible.”

From Lusis Payments: New Ideas, a Trusted Foundation: Lusis Payments at Nonstop TBC 2026
The “connection between new services and dependable payments ran through two sessions involving our colleague Ki Roth at Nonstop TBC 2026 in Orlando.”
In summary, the TBC 2026 was an important event to Lusis: “For Lusis, one of the biggest benefits remains the opportunity to meet face-to-face with our partners at HPE, including management and team members from around the world. These conversations help strengthen relationships, exchange ideas, and identify new opportunities to work together.”

From Pyalla Technologies, LLC: A media outreach move – storytelling via video complements the written word

The article ends with: “The short-form 90-second video is now being added to my options for telling stories. From posts and commentaries to articles and now to video, they will all become accessible to my clients. When it comes to video form, then these assignments will be pursued on a project-by-project basis. If this is a format that interests you and you have such projects in mind for 2027, then reach out to Margo and me as we will be only too happy to entertain delivering on the ideas you might just be mulling over today.”

Read the article to find out what led to this new focus and to see the progress.

From the Gravic Team: Don’t Let a Failover Reveal Your Data Problems

The article addresses an important consideration: “The loss of a production database leaves little room to investigate whether the recovery copy is usable. Regular comparisons give teams an opportunity to detect, investigate, and resolve discrepancies while the source is still available.”
“Shadowbase Compare and Compare Plus help teams incorporate Data Validation into their operational procedures. Online comparison allows applications to continue updating their databases during validation, while latency filtering helps avoid false mismatches. Detailed discrepancy reports support investigation and remediation, followed by revalidation to check the results.”

From comforte: Continuity and Innovation: Future-Ready Security for HPE Nonstop
Read the article, to me this part was the main point: “For HPE Nonstop customers, security innovation should build on proven technology, not come at the expense of operational continuity. TAMUNIO represents the natural next generation of comforte’s established data security capabilities, continuing to help organizations discover, classify and protect their most sensitive data, wherever it resides or travels.

Building on this foundation, TAMUNIO Assure introduces additional capabilities specifically designed to address emerging cryptographic and operational challenges. It provides a seamless, drop-in upgrade to SSH and SSL, supporting both classical and post-quantum cryptography without requiring script or code changes.”

From TIC: When Nonstop SMEs Walk Out the Door: Hidden Costs No Enterprise Can Afford to Ignore

“And when multiple SMEs leave in the same year? The organization enters a danger zone where recovery becomes slow, more expensive, and more uncertain.
This is the moment when executives finally ask:
“How do we rebuild knowledge that walked out the door?”
For decades, the answer was: “You can’t.” Today, that answer has changed.
Positive Reality: Knowledge Loss Is Preventable
TIC’s Navigator and Atlas were built specifically for this moment.”

Fom NuWave Technologies: NuWave at TBC 2026: WHAT’S NEXT

“From reconnecting with longtime customers and partners to meeting new faces across the HPE Nonstop community, TBC gave us the opportunity to reflect on where the industry is headed and look ahead at WHAT’S NEXT.”

Read the article, here I am just highlighting why it is a good read: “One of the highlights was ActivCERT™, NuWave’s solution for automating certificate lifecycle management for HPE Nonstop systems. With certificate validity periods continuing to shrink, organizations face increasing pressure to manage renewals more frequently and reliably. ActivCERTTM helps automate the process from renewal and deployment to verification, recovery, and rollback, reducing manual effort and helping organizations stay ahead of upcoming certificate changes.”

From CSP: Is Your Nonstop System Ready for Its Next Audit?
Read the article – CSP addresses important security considerations: “Operational risk management is centered on the assurance that all vulnerabilities associated with business activities are properly identified and understood, that the associated risks are formally assessed and quantified, and that there is a structured process in place for enacting the decisions made by leadership functions to manage vulnerabilities and the associated risks.”

“CSP Syslog Receiver improves insight into the Hardware Security Module, increases visibility and awareness of devices connected to the Nonstop environment, and can receive critical messages regarding hardware failure/power failure. CSP Syslog Receiver now also supports Enterprise Security Key Managers (ESKM’s).”
