Issue 5.5 Editorial

DanDan

So it is February, the Super Bowl is over and NFL G.O.A.T, Tom Brady, did it again! Certainly an exciting event here, in the USA! Not a football lover? Well then how about hearing from Punxsutawney Phil, the Seer of Seers, the Prognosticator of all Prognosticators, that we will be subject to six more weeks of winter here in the Northern Hemisphere?

In this issue of the NonStop Insider you will find an article by MVI Technologies – we always look for the new partners and new solutions to be available on the NonStop, so here goes, from MVI: “As we enter 2021, we are doing well and we have just secured a Digital Transformation project involving the provision of a Payment Hub for a local bank. Going beyond a typical Payment Switch or Gateway we will do both legacy interfacing like SWIFT MT & ISO8583 and new channels like JSON & ISO20022-based systems and it seems there is growing interest in such a product across our region. This project had a customer requirement to run on Linux. However, the solution we are deploying here will be able to run on the NonStop since it is a java-based system and we integrate easily with SQL/MX!” Read the article to get an insight to this new HPE NonStop partner!

Also, do read the NTI article to find out more about a new partnership between HPE NonStop Partners! “Effective immediately, NTI and Concerto have entered into a definitive agreement whereby Concerto will sell and support the DRNet® product suite in markets not previously served by NTI.  As NTI and Concerto are HPE Silver Partners, there is considerable synergy with regards to the way they both embrace the HPE NonStop product portfolio. With this agreement in place, Concerto will leverage its extensive expertise in NonStop and Payments whereby businesses relying on NonStop will be able to capitalize on the benefits provided by DRNet®.”

You may find interesting the article about IT transformation by Richard Buckle – “the article that made its way into the January / February 2021 issue of The Connection and it is being republished here with the consent of the editor of The Connection. While it is a summary of the major points made in the article, make sure you read the article in full as published in the January – February 2021 issue of The Connection.”

The Pyalla’s article covers a lot of topics, but I thought this little pearl may catch your attention: “Returning to a topic that continues to resonate with us all: Boston Dynamics amazing robots dancing to the tune of Do You Love Me? Now that I can dance! As for that dog well, what can we say! With the Super Bowl only days away, there’s some chatter suggesting that due to the numerous concussions being experienced perhaps the teams’ offensive and defensive lines could be comprised of robots! Possible? More relevant perhaps is AI. As we talk more about the introduction of AI and the potential pitfalls that lie ahead, maybe it will be up to the robots to best exemplify all that is positive about AI.”

I encourage you to read TCM’s article to find out what are they talking about when they finish with: “However, should that stone in your shoe be a source of irritation to you and your IT organization, don’t hesitate in reaching out to us here at TCM. It may be a case of simply swapping out the old shoe for something new!”

And then there are a couple of articles talking about NonStop participation in the cloud:

In the ETI article you will read: “In 2020 ETI-NET announced that it would be leveraging the QoreStor™ (QS) product offering from Quest. The decision to partner is in anticipation that NonStop customers will be among the many IT organizations that embrace a “cloud-first” preference, particularly when it comes to storing data.”

DATA443 writes: “In 2021 we are staying focused on helping people, by making it easier for people to access and use our data security products and services. There are a few updates coming to the UI, and most importantly, Jason announced that we will be making DataExpress (Secure Managed File Transfer) available in the cloud as a service.” Read the article to see how DATA443’s CEO Jason Remillard focuses his company on helping people!
