NuWave Technologies Announces
New LightWave Releases with Enhanced Security Features

February 12, 2026 – NuWave Technologies today announced the release of LightWave Client 1.4.0 and LightWave Server 1.3.0 available beginning January 26, 2026.

The LightWave Client and Server releases introduce two significant new security features –Authorization Exits and Password Policy – along with various bug fixes and stability improvements. Full documentation for these features is now available online.

Authorization Exits provide customers with greater flexibility in securing REST-based integrations.

LightWave Client (LWC) 1.4.0 is designed to simplify and secure outbound REST communications from HPE Nonstop environments. With the new Authorization Exits feature, customers can configure the LightWave Client to retrieve and automatically attach custom authentication tokens – such as OAuth bearer tokens and JSON Web Tokens (JWT) – to REST requests as HTTP headers or query parameters. Token retrieval and management are handled transparently by the client, including caching and refresh operations, allowing customers to integrate securely with external REST services without modifying application logic.

LightWave Server (LWS) 1.3.0 enhances inbound REST request security by enabling validation of custom authentication tokens through configurable Authorization Exit rules. These rules are defined within Access Control Policies and allow customers to verify tokens supplied in REST request headers or query parameters. The LightWave Server manages token verification, caching, and refresh automatically, providing a flexible and policy-driven approach to securing REST services hosted on Nonstop systems.

The new Password Policy feature, available in both LightWave Client and LightWave Server, allows customers to enforce robust password quality standards. The policy is automatically refreshed in the background, eliminating the need for service restarts while ensuring continuous enforcement across administrative actions, user creation, and request authorization.

*The Authorization Exits feature requires a license, while the Password Policy feature is available at no additional cost.
