It has been our pleasure to support Nonstop conferences and events, whether global or regional, as they represent our primary marketing outreach pursuit. It is at such events where we can interact directly with Nonstop customers, understanding their requirements and channeling their energy into programs we believe will help them in their journey. So much of what is being covered today is in response to Hybrid IT and that makes sense to NTI as Nonstop deployments have never functioned in isolation. There have always been other systems present and it’s remained a priority for Nonstop systems managers to ensure communications are effective and that data created on Nonstop is made available for consumption by processes on adjacent servers.

With Hybrid IT, there is also an awareness that solutions deployed on Nonstop need to be opened for access by other systems using industry-standard interfaces and services. This pursuit is recognized by NTI as a real-world desire for modernization. Strategically, as has been promoted this year at conferences and events, NTI’s focus remains on modernization coupled with low-risk, non-disruptive evolving of NTI’s own DRNet® core subsystems. To this end, NTI has positioned DRNet® as a core Nonstop system alongside NS SQL, TS/MP (Pathway), SCF, TMF, EMS and more. In so doing, what we have witnessed firsthand has been the Nonstop customer’s desire for a strong, stable and secure foundation. Frameworks built on anything less may not stand the test of time and when pursuing minimal risks when modernizing, having such a foundation is of paramount importance.

DRNet® is built upon the ability to replicate data. We move the data that moves your business has become our tag line and deservedly so; it’s what NTI has relied upon, for more than four decades, in delivering data movement for some of HPE’s biggest enterprises. Based on industry-standard principles of Change Data Capture the replication of data has provided a fundamental service ensuring business continuity.

DRNet® product portfolio delivers a modern solution for the HPE Nonstop user. From the conversations we have had with our Nonstop customers there is no escaping how enterprises are drowning in a sea of data even as data created on Nonstop is crucial to business growth.  Product differentiation occurring from within these enterprises, through innovation, is only possible when data no longer remains dark and where data from every source is made available to all authorized users.

With modernization as a driving force, this has led to DRNet® continuing support for Data Movement (for business continuity, integration and distribution), but also addresses Data Migration (for current GoldenGate customers), Data Amalgamation (for assimilation by external processes and databases), and Data Enablement (for AI access).

The DRNet® product portfolio is anchored on four key elements, each one addressing the needs of Nonstop customers. With DRNet®/Core active-active resilience is provided to better ensure business continuity. With DRNet®/Open and DRNet®/Evolve cloud-aligned hybrid environments are supported, whether it’s traditional databases such as Oracle, DB2 via JDBC as well as time-series databases and processes such as Splunk, ELK and, more recently, Prometheus all via JSON.

Open? Think of DRNet®/Open as the key to better integration of Nonstop data with that held within adjacent databases. Given this, DRNet®/Open is available as an optional extension to DRNet®/Core.

Evolve? Think of DRNet®/Evolve as an elevation of NTI as it enhances its product portfolio to better meet the needs of Nonstop customers when it comes to delivering Nonstop data beyond the immediate orbit of Nonstop. As such, DRNet®/Evolve is being delivered today as an optional extension of the DRNet®/Core.

Combined? All three DRNet® products represent a non-intrusive extension that broaden data delivery options, enhancing as it will, not only NTI’s modernization journey but the journeys of all Nonstop customers today as they seek an expanded participation for Nonstop systems in enterprise Hybrid IT.

Diving even deeper into its modernization pursuit, Nonstop customers can now leverage DRNet® as a data streaming platform via DRNet®/Kafka, powered by uLinga, as well as opening Nonstop core subsystems (including DRNet® itself) to AI-driven accessibility and integration via uLinga Nexus, developed by Infrasoft, deployed and supported by NTI. It seems everyday a vendor unveils their latest offerings in support of AI but with uLinga Nexus, it is all about unlocking the hidden value of your data that lies, freshly created, within Nonstop. Safe to say, exposing hidden value comes with a caveat:

about what that actually means in a Nonstop context. The value isn’t simply
in the data these systems hold. It’s in what the systems do with that data –
the rules, the workflows, the carefully constructed transaction flows that

without that context produces mediocre results at best,
and introduces governance risk at worst.”

These most-recent inclusions in NTI’s product portfolio further promote the company’s modernization pursuit arising out of a close working relationship with our key partner, Infrasoft. As such Infrasoft joins TANDsoft when it comes to expanding product offerings that Nonstop customers have deemed being key requirements for the retention of mission-critical Nonstop systems.
