Gravic Team Presents at ATUG and CTUG Events
The Gravic team recently presented, HPE Shadowbase Mission-Critical Use Case Solutions and Product News at ATUG in Atlanta and CTUG in Toronto. Attendees learned about new and future HPE Shadowbase features and how the software solves various enterprise use case problems, including:
- Business Continuity – active/passive, sizzling-hot-takeover, active/active replication architectures
- Data Integration and Synchronization – big data/OLAP, feed data warehouses
- Application Integration – real-time fraud detection, build real-time business intelligence systems
- Zero Downtime Migration – eliminate planned application downtime, minimize the risks associated with hardware and software changes
At ATUG, Ken Goldman opened the show with some updates on NonStop in North America. On his summary slide, HPE Shadowbase software was mentioned for aiding in HPE’s financial success with an increased amount of business continuity along with data and application integration sales. Jeff Kyle, VP and GM of MCS at HPE, presented Everything as a Service anywhere, any cloud. This presentation outlined and highlighted business along with real-world technological developments.
Steve Tcherchian of XYPRO presented on Security Analytics and Threat Detection, with some startling metrics on system lingering time and mean days to detection. Later in the day, we enjoyed chatting with customers and ended the day with a wine and beer reception at the Cabernet Steakhouse. We would like to extend a special thanks to XYPRO for coordinating the logistical side of the show.
At CTUG, Ken Goldman also opened the show with an HPE Business Update, discussing recent business developments and sales in North America. Franz Koenig, Senior Manager of the HPE Advanced Technology Center (ATC), presented HPE NonStop WW Strategy Update and NonStop – The Art of the Possible. Franz said, “I want to have the most simple, reliable, mission-critical workload system on the planet.” Keith Moore presented NonStop Liberated – A New Way to Look at NonStop, discussing some of his goals with finding mission-critical use cases for porting applications and/or database services to the NonStop (particularly from Oracle or SQL Server into SQL/MX). Keith also discussed HPE’s Proliant hardware and pointed out, “The stuff we’re doing in this space is incredible.” We presented HPE Shadowbase Mission-Critical Use Case Solutions and Product News, discussing recent Use Case additions, along with new features and future feature items.
Later this month (17 October), we will present similar content at MexTUG in Mexico City. Please attend if you are local to the region.
Gravic Publishes New White Paper on HPE Shadowbase SOLV Product Suite
Gravic recently published a new white paper: HPE Shadowbase SOLV Product Suite – Online Database Loading, Copying, Synchronizing, and Unloading. The HPE Shadowbase Online Loader (SOLV) and the HPE Shadowbase Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) Toolkit are utility products designed to perform initial database loads, including any subsequent target database resynchronization. Online and offline loading (or unloading) of a source database into a target database can be open for reading and updating while the load (or copy) occurs. The SOLV utility plays an important role in eliminating planned downtime via zero downtime migration (ZDM) and also provides an option for replicating non-audited HPE NonStop Enscribe and SQL data. The ETL Toolkit is used to extract database changes or initial load data into flat files for subsequent ETL loading into a data warehouse using comma-separated value (CSV), fixed-position, and tab-delimited formats. A variety of features and databases are supported.
Gravic Publishes Article on Discovering Meaningful Patterns Using Data Integration
Gravic recently published, Discover Meaningful Patterns Using Data Integration in the September/October issue of The Connection. HPE Shadowbase Streams for Data Integration uses CDC technology to stream data generated by one application to target database and application environments, eliminating data silos and providing the facilities for integrating existing applications at the data or event-driven level in order to create new and powerful solutions. Applications that once were isolated can now interoperate at event-driven level in real-time. Critical data generated by one application is distributed and acted upon immediately by other applications, enabling the implementation of powerful Event-Driven Architectures (EDA). Several production use cases are included that illustrate how this data distribution technology brings new opportunities and value to various enterprises.
